TODAY: One last day with a pretty good chance of thundershowers before a hotter drier trend returns tot he forecast for the weekend. Expect more storms over the mountains and a pretty good chance in spots again at the lower elevations. 40-50% chance in Monument...30-40% chance in Colorado Springs. Canon City and Walsenburg will have about a 30% chance of storms today compared to only about 20% opportunity for Pueblo and Trinidad. Only about a 10-20% chance by this evening for La Junta and Lamar.

TONIGHT: Storms will end in the early evening and skies will clear overnight.

THURSDAY: Drier air means fewer storms for tomorrow. There will still be enough moisture lingering over the mountains for a few afternoon storms, but much less available moisture at the lower elevations means that chances for showers goes down. Temps will be a couple of degrees hotter than today and even hotter this weekend.

FRIDAY-SUNDAY: Hotter weather and drier skies. Almost no chance of any storms at the lower elevations during the afternoon. Very slight chance of a storm over the mountains on Friday...a little better chance at the higher elevations on Saturday and Sunday. High temps during the three days will be in the lower to middle 90's in Colorado Springs and at 100 or hotter in Pueblo and on the plains.

MONDAY-TUESDAY: Weather to start next week will still be hot. Skies on Monday will be mostly dry at the lower elevations. Only about a 10% chance of storms for Colorado Springs. Over Monument Hill and the mountains will be about 20%. On Tuesday we'll have a little bit more moisture returning to the Front Range which will help boost our chance of storms in the Springs to about 10-20%....but only 10% or less for the plains. Better chances will remain up over the mountains.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
