Colder today...then really cold tonight

TODAY: We start the day with snow on the ground and icy roads in spots. Expect slippery travel around Hwy 24 east and west of Colorado Springs, Monument Hill and areas to the north, Canon City, Penrose, Trinidad and Walsenburg. Temps today for almost all of us will be below freezing! After clouds & flurries in the morning we'll see a mix of clouds and sunshine by late morning and afternoon. There is a slight chance around the mountains, Teller and El Paso County of a few light snow flurries later today. No accumulation is expected of any significance.

TONIGHT: Coldest night in more than a month expected! Lows will be in the single digits with wind chill values well below zero at times. What for some patchy fog to form by morning.

WEDNESDAY: A very cold start to the day with those areas of patchy fog. Mostly sunny skies during the day and not so cold as today. Max temps tomorrow should be about 10 degrees warmer than today. A storm system will pass bring a few more snow showers to the mountains across the continental divide.

THURSDAY: Warming trend continues. Highs about 3-5 degrees above Wednesday's readings. We'll have mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies.

FRIDAY/SATURDAY: Even warmer as we end the week and to start the weekend. Highs will be in the mid 40's in Colorado Springs and the upper 40's in Pueblo. Skies wil be sunny to mostly sunny. By Saturday we'll the warmest temps of the next seven days with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies.

SUNDAY: Another pretty nice day, but temps should be about 6-10 degrees cooler than our high temps on Saturday. Sunny to mostly sunny skies for the Front Range.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny and cool. Temps about 3-6 degrees warmer than Sunday and right about where they should be for this time of the year.
